I was watching a show on TV and they played this song in the background. I just had to find it. This is Nina Simone with “My man’s gone now”. Her voice is haunting, although the first time I heard it I thought it was a dude.

She is classified as a Jazz singer but has done a lot of other R’nB joints. Insane vocals. Nina Simone is a true legend and was nominated various times for countless music awards. R.I.P Nina, thanks for doing your thing.
